BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY IN SCOPUS ON NATURE TOURISM IN THE MANAGEMENT OF TOURIST DESTINATIONS

Abstract

In recent times, caring for the environment has become one of the decisive factors when choosing the destination by tourists, in this sense nature tourism acquires great importance. Due to the relevance of the subject at present, this article has been carried out whose objective is to develop a bibliometric study on nature tourism and its perspective for destinations. For this, the methodology proposed by Diana Lorena Pineda Ospina was used, which has three steps; as well as the documentary review of articles published in the Scopus database in the period 2001-2023. For this, tools such as Endnote X7, Excel 2019, Biblioshiny and VOSviewer 1.6.16 were used for data processing and visualization. The results show that the scientific production on the subject is low. As part of the bibliographical review that complements the present investigation, the main research gaps were determined: the use of techniques and theories to determine and examine nature tourism, in addition to the need to use advanced methods and integrated approaches to evaluate the perspectives of it.
