Statistical control process in manufacturing of steel rods

The purpose of this article is to analyze compliance with quality controls in the production of steel rods in a steel company, considering the control limits established in the INEN 2167 standard and the thresholds suggested in previous analyzes; applying the statistical control of processes with univariate control charts, based on the data obtained in the daily reports of the finished product weighing scale, belonging to the Quality Control area of the last three months of 2019. For this purpose, the variables mass, creep and resistance are studied; and, other factors involved in the process are analyzed. According to the statistical methodology used, the process complies with the limits established in the aforementioned standard; however, non-compliance with the control limits suggested in a previous study was observed. In addition, the review for the year 2019 shows problems in production, such as the poor management of personnel.
