Abstract

This article aims to illustrate the two-stage procedure to estimate the parameters of the Gompertz function when the errors are correlated. Throughout the article, the mathematical development of the properties of the Gompertz function is presented, as well as its interpretation. Similarly, the procedure is applied in two contexts: infections by COVID-19 in Yucatan and the production of Biogas during the anaerobic digestion of organic waste. In both cases, the Box-Jenkins methodology is used to determine the parameters of the time series that models the errors.
