New Approach for the Solution of the Third Degree General Equation in one variable

Abstract

This article presents a new general formula to solve the equation of the third degree in one variable (cubic), the methodology is reviewed, the results obtained that include an analytical expression for the solution (root), analysis of the three simple real roots and on multiple solutions. The linear independence between the well-known formula from the 16th century at the time of the Renaissance given by the Italians, Del Ferro, Tartaglia and Cardano is also discussed; and that of the present article. Finally two examples are shown about a “direct” formula, applied to two equations with three different real roots.
